The Mosby Household Family Room, The Year 2033

August 2008 was weird even if you compare it to my birthday with the goat. You see, Barney and Robin had both been on a mystical island with a school on it for a while. Then Marshall and Lily joined them, getting jobs at the school. Only they were a different Marshall and Lily from an alternate universe.

Marshall and Lily were in his office at the school figuring out how to set up a betting ring for animals that they claim they didn't make up. And I know how this sounds, but your Alternate Aunt Lily swears that Marshall turned into a pineapple. She carried him around for a few days until he got better.

Back here, though, the Marshall and Lily from our dimension had problems with their shower backing up. Marshall did say that their bathroom smelled kind of pineappley.

Robin, meanwhile, was learning the meaning of the word 'hubris.' What? Oh, it's a Greek word. It's when you're way too proud and then something happens to you. Usually something ironic. Don't they teach you anything in school these days? Anyway, there was a sudden rash of people supposedly turning into animals on the island and Robin used her radio news report to laugh at them. I'm sure you can guess what happened next.

You can't? We need to get you kids an English tutor. She turned into a dog. It was apparently hilarious, even though I never saw the pictures <strike>because the post wasn't up yet while I was writing this</strike>.

While Alternate Uncle Marshall was a pineapple and Aunt Robin was a dog, your Uncle Barney was something even weirder - he was engaged. He had been seeing a woman who was a lot like him, only she was from outer space. Look, I'm just repeating what they told me. I wasn't there. But really, if you're going to believe that he was engaged, why would you have trouble believing that aliens are real?

As for me, I was getting a haircut. It was during my really bad hair stage and the stylist was working on trying to control it for hours. After she finally got it all neat, I owed her dinner. And that, kids, is how I met your mother's hair stylist.

[OOC: This one goes out to the people who told me I had to do this post.]
